REGIONAL RESOURCE DIRECTOR
7315 WISCONSIN AVENUE SUITE 790 EAST
BETHESDA, MD 20814
Jerri Shannon is Regional Resource Office for Caron Treatment Centers serving VA and WV. She earned a degree in Business Administration from Averett University and is also a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Ms. Shannon began her career in the addiction field as an Admissions Coordinator and quickly learned “it was not as important where a patient went to treatment as that they get to treatment”. There are many barriers between finally recognizing that treatment is needed and being able to access the best treatment for that individual or family.
Ms. Shannon eventually moved from admissions work to marketing and her primary career focus for over 20 years has been to assist individuals and families in accessing the appropriate level of care for addiction treatment. She has helped numerous families over the years navigate the process of admission to treatment and aftercare placement. She also provides support, resources and education to the professional providing the addiction treatment
Ms. Shannon is proud to represent Caron Treatment Centers, one of the most comprehensive treatment centers in the Untied States. She currently resides on Grandview Island on the Chesapeake Bay in Hampton, VA with her husband Jimmy and their dog, Minnie.

In 1957, Richard J. Caron, a recovering alcoholic, and his wife, Catherine, opened their home to people who needed guidance and support in recovery. Richard and his wife spent hours chit chatting with anyone who came to them for help.
Two years later, the Carons purchased a historic resort on South Mountain in Wernersville, Pennsylvania and opened Chit Chat Farms – a facility that soon grew and gained an international reputation for excellence as one of the first and foremost chemical dependency treatment centers in the United States - an organization that set the standard for early addiction treatment. Chit Chat Farms, lovingly called Magic Mountain by the thousands of patients and families who have experienced healing there, pioneered the addiction treatment industry in many ways. It was one of the first facilities to admit and treat female alcoholics, and it was one of the first to incorporate psychological treatment components with the traditional 12-Step approach. After helping thousands of patients, Chit Chat was renamed Caron to honor its late founders in 1983.
Through industry highs and lows, Caron has stood fast in its mission to transform lives impacted by addiction and substance use through proven, comprehensive and personalized behavioral healthcare solutions. Dick Caron was a man of vision and hope, faithfully supported by his wife, Catherine.
We blend the latest evidence-based practices from medicine and psychology with historically proven addiction treatment methods like, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, 12-Step integration, motivational interviewing, addiction counseling, and positive peer culture.
