Jennifer L. Robertson, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist specializing in psychotherapy for adults and young adults. She is licensed in the District of Columbia and Maryland. She maintains a private practice in Dupont Circle in Washington, DC and in Rockville, MD. 


In addition to her experience providing psychotherapy for adults struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, life transitions and grief and loss; Dr. Robertson has worked extensively with issues facing young adults, beginning with her employment at Georgetown University’s Counseling Center. She has a special interest in this population.

As a professional classical singer with a Master's of Music in vocal performance, Dr. Robertson can be especially helpful to clients who suffer from performance and public speaking anxiety. She has many years of experience working in a business setting, and thus has an in-depth understanding of work-related stressors and career change issues.

Dr. Robertson has experience conducting individual and group therapy for women facing separation and divorce at The Women's Center. Dr. Robertson has experience working with caregivers of aging parents. She has special expertise working with individuals and couples who are undergoing infertility treatment or who are considering decisions about additional infertility treatments, adoption or living childfree. 


Education and Training

Dr. Robertson received her Doctor of Psychology degree from The George Washington University in 2006. She received additional training for a year each as a fellow at the Washington Psychoanalytic Society and at the Baltimore-Washington Institute for Psychoanalysis. Her prior experience includes providing psychotherapy and psychological / psychoeducational assessments at the following Washington, DC area sites:

Dr. Robertson is a member of the American Psychological Association, and a member of its Division of Psychologists in Independent Practice, as well as its Division of Psychotherapy. She is also a member of the Maryland Psychological Association.
