Heather Demirci graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2011. After graduation, Heather pursued further education by enrolling in the Institute of Physical Art’s APTA Credentialed Orthopedic Residency. In 2012, she achieved her Certification in Functional Manual Therapy (CFMT), passing with honors and becoming the youngest ever to be awarded the certification. For the past 3 years Heather has enjoyed working in Old Greenwich, CT at Elite Health Services with Brad Gilden DPT, MS PT, CFMT, FAAOMPT, CSCS where she treated a range of patient population from orthopedic diagnoses to neurological pathologies and visceral dysfunctions. She enjoys working with all ages, from young children to older adults. During her time at EHS, Heather got involved with the swimming and triathlon communities in Fairfield County by giving lectures in proper swimming technique and offering clinics on improving speed in the water while decreasing the risk of injury. In the Fall of 2014, Heather was accepted into the IPA Fellowship Program through the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy where she looks forward to improving upon her skills as a Functional Manual Therapist. Along with Heather’s love for Physical Therapy, she enjoys swimming, cooking and exploring the outdoors.
